VOAT Procedure

Freedom from CPAP: The VOAT Procedure

“I was diagnosed with sleep apnea approximately two years ago. I was falling asleep in the afternoon I didn’t have any energy at all. I’ve had two heart attacks, I’ve developed diabetes, I developed GERD, I developed depression, and all of these things are improving with the procedures that Dr. Dillard has done. The RFA procedure has been a great procedure for me. Originally my throat was collapsing 57 times per hour and now its down to 19.

My diabetes is getting better, I’m not depressed anymore, I don’t sleep in the afternoon, I don’t have a need to sleep, and I have plenty of energy.Dr. Dillard has done an excellent job on my health. I strongly recommend anyone to go and see him. Personally, I think he saved my life.”

Energy Restored: VOAT & Balloon Sinuplasty

“I know that I’ve had a sleep apnea issue for at least five, six, years. Was on the CPAP machine. I found it to be helpful, very helpful, but cumbersome. I would sit down to watch television and my wife would say I’ve fallen asleep for an hour or two hours, and sometimes even four hours of sleep. I just did not have the energy level that I normally was used to.

After a while, the use of the CPAP Machine, things got a little better but not as great as they have been since I got the tongue ablation. The tongue ablation procedure really brought me on home. My breathing during the day is much improved, my wife said I don’t snore anymore, she’s able to sleep, and when I wake up I’m glad to wake up. I’m refreshed, I’m energetic, and I’m enthusiastic throughout the day.

I had sinuplasty and one part of the tongue ablation procedure done at the same time. The next morning I woke up and had a little swelling and by twelve o’clock the pain was gone, the swelling was gone on the back of the tongue, and that afternoon I was feeling considerably better. The next morning I had no use for the pain pill because I had no pain. It is just an amazing procedure, I highly recommend it. There's just no need for the CPAP machine anymore, for me there's no need, I’m just happy that I did it.

The staff is caring, their prompt, courteous, and their follow through is excellent. Dr. Dillard has perhaps the best bedside manners of any physician that I have had experience with. And I’ve had experience with quite a number. The care is obvious. Its not just about the procedure itself, its also about how you’re doing with recovery. I highly recommend this group of professional staff that he has as well as Dr. Dillard. I highly recommend it.”

The Gift of Sleep: VOAT

“I’ve been dealing with sleep apnea since I’ve been 30 years old. Some of the experiences I’ve been having is, feeling tired all of the time and driving up to a red light and falling asleep. People would blow their horn and I would wake up and not know whats going on. My family, I’d tend to get very snappy. Its been real stressful for them, its been real stressful for me, and for them having to worry about me making it home safely. I’ve gotten depression from sleep apnea. I’d wake up in the morning and not want to do anything except sit down and give up.

My wife had contacted the fish and wrote them a Christmas wish letter to explain my situation. One day, on my way home from work, I was calling my wife and she told me that the fish had called. When I called them back it was the fish and Dr. Dillard. They explained that Dr. Dillard answered the Christmas wish for me. Explained to me his situation, that he also uses a CPAP machine, that he also understood what I was going through, and wanted to help me out / correct my issue.

I’ve been on the CPAP for three days. The very first day, the results were great. Immediately throughout the day I could tell that I didn’t have the urge to fall asleep. The biggest test was coming home in the car with no radio; I didn’t have the urge to fall asleep at a red light anymore.

Dr. Dillard was very nice when we first met. I actually wasn’t even sure what to do. When I first released he was granting my wish, I teared up at home. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen when I showed up here. Dr. Dillard has been really great. I really appreciate everything he’s done for me. I couldn’t put in words how I feel. Its a blessing that he’s come forward and offered to do this for me, and it really tells me a lot about someone when they do something like that.”

Feeling Better

“I actually just stayed tired all the time. You wake up during the night. You just don’t get a sound sleep. You come to the doctor and he starts treating you, you’ll notice the difference. I got a heart condition, I got high blood pressure, diabetes, acid reflux at night..they call it GERD I guess, and he’s treating that real good too.

The staff here is great. They’re friendly, and when you come in for the procedure they sit down and talk to you to get you calm. Dr. Dillard come in the Anesthesiologist puts you to sleep. And when you wake up, you don’t feel nothing. No pain no nothing. Its like nothing ever happened, but you feel better.

I would recommend Dr. Dillard to my friends and my family. He will treat you with the best technology they got now. And he done stuff on me that I ain’t never heard of, but it works. And thats what its all about, just getting to feeling better.”
