Your provider has recommended Ponaris to help relieve one or more of the following:
- Dry or crusted nasal passages due to dry air, heating systems, or altitude
- Nasal irritation from frequent saline irrigation
- Congestion or thick mucus from colds or allergies
- Inflamed nasal passages following sinus surgery or procedures
- Atrophic rhinitis (a condition involving thinning of the nasal lining)
How to Use
- Gently blow your nose before applying to clear the nasal passages.
- Tilt your head back slightly or lie back with your head off the edge of a bed.
- Apply 1/2 dropper into each nostril.
- Gently sniff the oil inward, or use a finger to press the side of the nose and massage lightly to help distribute the oil.
- Remain still for 1–2 minutes to let the oil coat the nasal lining.
How Often to Use
Apply as needed for relief, or as directed by your provider. Ponaris can be used multiple times per day. Many patients find it most helpful in the morning, before bed, and after nasal rinsing. It is safe for ongoing daily use.
Tips for Best Results
- Ponaris works best when applied after completing your nasal saline rinse, as it helps lock in moisture and soothe the rinsed nasal lining.
- If your home or office has very dry air, using a humidifier in addition to Ponaris can significantly improve nasal comfort.
- The mild eucalyptol and peppermint scent is normal and part of the formula's therapeutic blend.
- Ponaris is available over-the-counter at many pharmacies and online. Ask our staff for purchasing recommendations if needed.
Precautions
- For nasal use only — keep away from eyes.
- If you experience increased nasal irritation, nosebleeds, or worsening congestion, discontinue use and contact our office.
